WEIRTON VOLUNTEER
FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION

The Weirton Volunteer Firefighters Association was formed in 2002. The concept
behind the association is to provide support to the volunteer and career
divisions in a non-firefighting capacity. The association is made up entirely of
volunteers from the Volunteer Division as well as interested members of the
community. You must be at least 15 years of age to join the association and have
an interest in the fire service and your community. Forms of support include the following:
| VOLUNTEER DIVISION |
CAREER DIVISION |
| Fund Raising ventures |
Provides support in a
non-firefighting capacity during major incidents. Such
support includes communications, equipment relocation,
food services and other support as deemed necessary. |
| Acquisition of land or property |
| Acquisition of new equipment |
| Provides a voice for volunteer personnel |
| Other support as deemed necessary |
Each color of the WVFA Maltese cross represents the Pride, Dedication and Unity
of the association. RED is for the pride each member has for the fire service,
YELLOW is for the dedication and commitment to our community and WHITE
represents the unity we have with our career brothers.
